In 1700 the Estate
called Poggio Martino Maggiore belonged to the Seminary Vagnotti
of Cortona. The seminarists cultivated the vines and produced
an excellent wine.
In the 1950s, after some transfers of property, the Faralli
family who worked in the estate as tenant–farmers, bought
it from Conte Giovanni Maria De Maigret and became the owners.
The ancient winemaking tradition has always been fiercely
respected and in the last ten years, thanks to the introduction
of new vineyards and new technology, wine production has increased.
